Insurance is an ES membership benefit

For those unaware of the benefits of ES membership, I thought I'd mention a significant one - and it's certainly significant if you need it - and that is player insurance.

We've had a recent case when a player lost part of a tooth after getting caught in their opponent's swing. This was a nasty incident but at least the blow was softened slightly because dental repairs are covered under the player insurance that comes as part of ES membership. The cost of the crown in this case was nearly £500 and all but the £50 excess was covered by the insurance.

Do be aware that you need to have activated your ES membership to claim your benefits which you can do by logging on to englandsquash.com and activating from your dashboard.

There are other benefits as well. The two most useful for badsquash league players being:

• You can play in the leagues!
• There are some good discounts to be had from kit retailers

Note that affiliated clubs also benefit from club insurance. That might be worth finding out about if you are responsible for the club.
