    End of season play-offs

Reminder: There are still quite a few fixtures to be arranged. Those that have dates are on the system now but there are still quite a few blanks. There are trophies for the winners as well as all that kudos!

Please arrange to play on or before Weds, 3rd May.

    Cheers,

       Richard

These are the fixtures to be arranged. Autumn division winners v Spring division winners:

    • Prem A: Vivo Pirates 1 v Vivo Pirates 1
    • Prem B: Redland A v Redland B
    • Prem C: Redland B v David Lloyd Lovecars
    • Div 1: Thornbury B v Weston 1
    • Div 2: Weston 1 v Redland E
    • Div 3: Bath Uni 3 v Lansdown D
    • Div 4: BAWA B v Shepton Mallet B
    • Div 5: Keynsham A Vivo Pirates 4
    • Div 6: Kingswood A v Kingswood U
    • Div 7: Bradley Stoke B v BAWA D
    • Div 8: Keynsham B v Kingswood V

Looks like Vivo Pirates won the league! They don't need to play themselves... Also Redland B and Weston 1 managed to win their division in both halves despite going up a division in the meantime. Very impressive.

    Cheers,

       Richard

With all the fixtures played now (albeit with a couple of results still need entering) we know who the division winners are for this half and, of course, for last half. We now need the play-offs to decide who the winners are for the whole season.

The play-off matches will be between the respective winners of each division so, for example, the winners of division 4 last half - BAWA B - will play the winners of division 4 this half - Shepton Mallet B. We should end up with a season winner for every division.

Here's how it will be organised:

    • The fixture date will be agreed by the two respective team captains before the Easter weekend and that date given to me to add to the system.
    • The fixture itself needs to be played by Weds, 3rd May to give us time to get the trophies engraved before the AGM on the 10th.
    • The trophies will be awarded at the AGM. Winning teams - please send a representative.
    • The default home team will be the division winner from the first half
    • But actually it can be played anywhere as long as both captains agree. It may be that you can avoid court booking fees if you want to.
    • Any court costs will be shared equally between the two teams.
    • Marking should be shared between the teams on the night. Away team marks three.
    • No food to be arranged on the night unless you want to but beers and social banter would be a good way to end the evening if you're still talking to each other.
    • If you can't arrange a date then there will be no division winner
    • The teams need to be representative of the teams that played in the respective half with the focus on no ringers. I.e. no new players in top half of the team.
    • Anything else needed please ask.

I'll put the fixtures on the system in the next day or so and await dates. I'll also send out the list of division winners from both halves so it's clear who's playing who but it's all on the system if you look at the two sets of tables: http://badsquash.co.uk/tables.php?league=111 and http://badsquash.co.uk/tables.php?league=115.

    Thanks and good luck!
