24 Hour Squashathon 8th/9th March GET INVOLVED!

    Title

    Daniel

We are pleased to be supporting a fundraising event for a local family who unfortunately lost their beautiful baby boy, Daniel Popham in August 2013. Daniel was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a genetic condition that no one has heard off yet it is the biggest genetic killer in under 2 year olds. Now the scary bit; approximately 1 in 40 of us carry the gene that that causes this condition so it could affect anyone of us or the people that we care about – this needs to change.

Daniel’s parents, Tony & Sam Popham have scheduled nine fundraising events throughout 2014, an event for each of the nine special weeks that Daniel was alive. The objective is to raise as much sponsorship and awareness as possible for The Jennifer Trust (SMA Charity) and Children’s Hospice South West in Wraxall, Bristol.

Tony Popham is a keen squash player and some of you have may have played against him over the years, Tony was keen to include an event that would appeal to the squash community - a 24 hour Squashathon seemed like only thing to do!

Tony Popham will be joined by Rob Jeeves, another regular club player, for the 24 squashathon which will be taking place at David Lloyd (Long Ashton) on the 8th March starting at 11am. Tony and Rob will both be playing 24 opponents over 24 hours!

    Players Wanted!

Tony and Rob are looking for players of all standards to participate, please email [email protected] if you are interesting in playing. You can either make a donation to play or raise sponsorship to support this great cause.
